Celebrating the 250th anniversary of the Royal Academy, Abbot Hall displays works by female academicians from its own collection
Dedicated to female Royal Academicians in the collection, this exhibition celebrates a century since the Representation of the People Act 1918, which allowed women to vote for the first time in Britain.
Highlighting gender discrimination in the art world, the display includes works by Mary Fedden, Angelica Kauffman, Paula Rego, Sheila Fell and Alison Wilding.
This exhibition is part of RA250, supported by Art Fund.
