This online exhibition charts the early career of portrait painter, Thomas Lawrence.
Celebrating the prodigious talent of Thomas Lawrence (1769-1830), the show focusses on his formative career. From the age of 11 he was promoted as a natural-born genius like his Renaissance predecessor Raphael.
Follow his adolescence in Bath as an already exceptional portraitist, his move to London where he produced some of his most brilliant work, and finally to his mid-twenties, when he was elected as a Royal Academician.
